UOW's Duckpond lawn was transformed into a mini Milan as students gathered to strut their stuff on the runway, admire local designs and celebrate Australian Fashion Week.
Mini makeovers and massages attracted over 800 students to the two day event with parades by UOW merchandise store Eleven, Mission Australia, URAC, Rip Curl and even the UOW Harry Potter Society entertaining the crowds.
The undisputed highlight of the event was the UOW Model Quest, which proved both beauty and brains are in high supply on campus.
Leah Kaylor took out the female competition, followed by Feifei Yang, Simone McDiarmid and Joanna Cooney. Chris Anderson rocked the runway to win the men's division with Ben Cassar-Borg, Chadwick James Spinazza and Hayden Daley also impressing the judges.
UniCentre Entertainment Coordinator Kym Arntzen said the event was aimed at connecting the UOW population with the local fashion industry.
"It was great to see students enjoying the showcase of local fashion, models and designers. UniCentre have already received many enquiries from students about next years event," she said.
Model Quest prizes included a day spa package, STA travel vouchers and treats from Barberista, Good Jelly and Eleven.
